BP-POL-004

Human Rights, Modern Slavery, Child & Migrant Workers Policy

Freely chosen work, ethical recruitment, age protection and worker-centred remedy

Version 1.0Status: Approved2026
Every person connected to Blue Palm’s work must be treated with dignity and must work freely, lawfully and without exploitation.

Purpose and scope

The policy establishes human-rights and labour-exploitation controls for recruitment, employment, sourcing, logistics and contracted labour. It applies to Blue Palm personnel and relevant suppliers, recruiters, labour providers, subcontractors and other third parties.

No exploitation

Blue Palm prohibits forced or compulsory labour, trafficking, slavery, servitude, debt bondage, exploitative prison labour, child labour, coercion, threats, document confiscation and restrictions that prevent a worker from lawfully leaving employment.

Child and young workers

Blue Palm’s minimum age for direct employment is 18. Suppliers must not employ anyone below the applicable legal minimum age, generally 15 under the cited Iraq/KRI/UAE frameworks, and no person under 18 may perform hazardous work. Age must be verified and remediation must protect the child or young person rather than simply removing support.

Fair recruitment and migrant workers

Recruiters must be approved and worker-paid recruitment fees are prohibited. Material job terms must be provided before acceptance and travel in a language the worker understands. Wages must be paid directly, regularly and in full. Workers retain their passports and identity documents and must have equal access to training, welfare and grievance routes.

Supplier due diligence

Blue Palm maps who recruits, employs, supervises, houses and pays workers; checks licences, recruitment chains, contracts, payroll evidence, hours, permits and grievance arrangements; and may interview workers privately where risk warrants.

Immediate escalation indicators

Indicators include inability to leave, lack of access to documents or wages, recruitment debt, threats, contract substitution, false age documents, passport or bank-card retention, unpaid wages, excessive involuntary overtime and fear of authorities. Immediate safety takes priority and concerns are escalated without endangering workers.
